Part 2 | Raw Water Treatment Process - Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

First step of water treatment is processing the sea water on DAF Chamber. The sea water will be pumped to Flow Division Chamber by Sea Water Supply Pump. During water flow inside pipe line, sea water will be mixed with chemical material.

There are 4 chemical materials used during 1st step of water treatment, as follow:
1. FeCl3 - Used for flocculation process
2. NaOCl - Used for eliminating all microorganism
3. HCl - Used for neutralizing the pH of seawater
4. Polymer - Used to create flocculant

All these 4 materials will be mixed on static mixer and the water continue flowing to fulfill flow division chamber. The seawater will continue to next process in flocculation chamber (1st stage and 2nd stage) and then overflowing water will continue to Dissolved Air Flotation Chamber. This chamber will get air supply and water supply from saturator tank to creating a lot of bubble to make the sludge floating on the water surface.

The floating sludge goes through the specific mechanism that will separating the sludge from the water. The sludge which is already separated will sent to sludge thickener tank for next process. After desludging process the water goes to product chamber and flowing to DMGF tank for further process.
